I've tried hiking shoes, running shoes, trail shoes, but these are the first shoes that work.I walk 8 miles a day either on trails, treadmill or asphalt. This shoe supports the pounding I give the shoes and saves my knees (which I injured in the USMC).Other Hoka models are unique and have their own drawbacks and benefits, but at least they carry different names so you can more easily spend your money as you wish? From: Comments: I just ordered the Stinson 3 ATR based on my experience with the Challenger ATR 2.I received the Stinson 3 two days ago and will have to return them.

Unlike the Challenger, the Stinson 3 has a very high arch and they are much less pillowy than the Challenger ATR 2. I tried on the Stinsons and immediately realized the arches are high and rub on my feet while walking around my house.

I can work all day without experiencing any pain in my legs & feet. I have a total of 4 pairs & I will continue to buy more. From: Comments: The original Stinson was terrific and entirely adequate for my marathon and ultra marathon training and races, even though I could use a bit more width in them. I attempted to buy a third pair recently and was sold "a cat in a bag," or rather one of the newer models labeled as Stinson.

Why take a name of a great shoe and paste it on something different and add an initial, confusing and disgusting salespeople and runners alike?

My first pair was the Challenger ATR which is a great shoe but for me the Stinson ATR surpasses them in comfort and stability.

I am pretty solid in build and am VERY rough on my shoes.

As usual these shoes are the legendary Hoka quality. From: Comments: Pros: Cushioning fabulous, as usual, for Hoka. 2) The high arch is odd and took some getting used to. I was shocked when I attempted to lace up my shoes to go for a run and both laces broke.
