I have a JDM V7 Bugeye STI and it is a blast to drive with the short gears, but then again I have an 8k RPM redline.
You can answer your own question with ratios as the post I mentioned has a calculator for ratios. I would not like the JDM V7 STI transmission in my 09 STI, the gears would be too short having to shift early in the 6700-7000 RPM range. I think I found the one with all the right ratios I could be ok with its a JDM Forester STI SG5 TY856WL4CC Transmission 6MT non DCCD with 5x100 Brembo Calipers R180 Differential 3.9 Package has a hefty price tag but can off set that with selling the clippers a little I have a different braking system.
